The anthology, A Letter to the Grave, chronicles out everyday topics in our present colony – Nigeria. It is a nexus of thoughts and imageries that intertwine to give a cinematic portrait of people’s suffering that has transmogrified into the flooding plights of a nation. The poet is quite cunny in his choice of words, however, very sarcastic! The sarcastic cynicism of the writer can only but provoke the reader to sigh for sorrow. He spent his time to weave pictures so apt, touchy and sorrowfully frustrating. The twist of words, though simple, have put together different topics to literally describe the writer’s dismay, and mixtures of “these are the triangular-shaped problems of our dear country”. The words describe topics that lay superfluously unattended in the layers of our society: desperation for wealth, indifference of our metaphoric representatives in government, gnashing writhe of poverty, death and its cold hands, etcetera
